After a terrible and horrible start in their short dog life they all found their heaven on earth. Now they have exchanged it for the eternal dog paradise where they will faithfully wait for their master/mistress at the end of the rainbow bridge.

Mireille,
With much regret I have to inform you about the decease of Princesse who left us to join her sisters in dog’s paradise.
She would have been 15 years old in April but since 3 months she had heart problems.
I can assure you that she was spoiled and very well taken care of in the years with us and the whippet with whom she was living, her “accomplice”, will miss her a lot.
Mireille, I will always continue to support you.
With sincere friendship,
J.M. Creton
Dear Mrs. Broeders,
12,5 years ago we adopted Dartagnan (Darty) via GINB.
With pain in my heart I have to inform you that after 12,5 years we had to say farewell to our faithful friend. After his hind leg sagged Darty continued to run around merrily to the point that it was no longer possible. We then had to make the difficult decision. Our dear friend is missed every day but we are grateful to GINB for having made it possible to adopt him.

My dear Micje,
From the first day you came into our live, on the 21st March 2015, you immediately felt at ease. You were an ever joyful madcap, a funny girl, always playful, but most of all a darling dog who gave us pure love. Wherever we went, you accompanied us. You were our shadow, never far away. You helped your sister, Cayenne, to feel more at ease, you taught her to stay “alone” and trust people. You were her big support, her example. After the cleaning of your teeth you suddenly did not want to eat well anymore and you lost weight. Liver and pancreas problems were the cause. After having spent a week in the animal clinic, during which we hoped for recovery, you suddenly became much sicker. You got worse very fast. Your belly and legs were swollen and full of blood. We could not let you suffer any longer. Surrounded by love you passed away silently.
Sleep in peace, dear Mica, we miss you immensely.

Run forever free lief dier. Ik heb heel veel van je gehouden.
Mis je enorm.
Je mama.

“Big Boy”, on the 1st September 2016 you entered our life, you were a scared boy, but you immediately trusted us and your sisters Careta and Xena. Unknown persons you did not like. Barely after two beautiful loving years we had to let you go. Big Boy we miss you and your “toeskes” every day but someday we will meet again and then the joy will be immense. Have fun and enjoy your next life Big Boy.

Dear, beautiful Indriya,
You came, you saw and you conquered… everyone’s heart.
And mine most of all.
You were such a beautiful, kind, soft-hearted, playful and affectionate girl.
Five years you could enjoy your good life together with me and your sisters.
Five years for which I am so grateful that I could be your mom.
But the awful disease with a C also struck you.
You have put on your wings and passed away peacefully in my arms to go over the rainbow bridge.
Dear treasure, my snow-white I miss you immensely. There are no words for my pain.
Hope you are fine up there, play and have fun with your brother, sisters and daddy.
Sometime we will meet again, I will never forget you dear sweetheart.
Big kiss and hug from your mommy Angèle and your 3 sisters Nevada, Amaliya and Atlanta.
Kayla,
You were a skinny and already older lady of 9 years when we adopted you.
Soon you became a big, sweet girl. Our efforts were rewarded with kind, loving affection. Kayla you will be in our heart forever and we will always remember all the beautiful and sweet moments with you.
Your sister left us before you and you will now be able to run and play together in the eternal hunting fields.

On Friday the 13th July we had to let our old girl Jana (+16 years old) put to sleep forever. Our grief is immense, but we also have peace of mind for the beautiful life that we could give her. She left in the same way as she arrived, QUIETLY! Farewell dear girl, I wish you all the best wherever you are with your friends Bono, Kora and Rusti.
Your mommy, daddy, Ninez, Porthos and Nelleke.

My dear Estrella, my cuddy doll. My first greyhound child. I will never forget the 21stApril 2007. That day you became my girl. You were already in my heart, but when I saw you for the first time you got totally in it. You were scared for everyone, but you trusted me completely. Just like I loved you, you gave me all your love, all your confidence. Because of you, my dear doll, I got infected with the greyhound virus. After you another two long-legged doggies were adopted. The decease of your sisters SaraSorella, on the 23rdJanuary 2018, Fientje on the 5thFebruary 2018 and Mirella on the 30th May 2018 was too heavy to endure for you. After the decease of your soulmate Mirella you lost the lust for life. You were inseparable, were you went, Mirella also went. Where Mirella was, you were. Your decease is a huge sadness and an immense pain. On the 6thJuly 2018 I had to let you go. Farewell little Estrella. I wish you all the best up there with your sisters, we will meet again someday.

Tintin,
My dearest cuddly bear,
At the year-end of 2013-2014 Mimi had a fervent wish.
The most beautiful New Year’s gift for her would be that the 2 oldies, who were waiting a long time already on the site, would get their golden basket… You were over 10 years old at that time. My husband and I talked about you. The day after we again looked at the site… one of the two was adopted… my husband said to me “the other one we will adopt”. You were our first male dog…you became the “brother” of 7 sisters… Mimi said on the adoption day “he will feel like a sultan with his 7 women”. You loved the grandchildren and they adored you!!! Hugging for hours, playing, looking at the IPad…you fully enjoyed it all… You did not like new things, you always remained scared… but touching you was sufficient to calm you down. You had so much confidence and love for your family. During 4,5 years you could enjoy your loving family. I would have loved to give you many more years…unfortunately. I miss you immensely, it hurts so much to look at your urn. But I am grateful that I have known you and that I was able to care for you and spoil you.
Be happy over there in the dog heaven. I will never forget you…you will be in my heart forever.

Dear Mrs. Broeders,
With pain in my heart I have to inform you that my “greyke” passed away.
Thanks to you and your co-workers we were able to spoil and especially love him during seven fine years. He was our treasure and during the last years he was my old boy. When he arrived in our family he was very scared and insecure and later on he became a proud greyhound. He was the boss of the pack. All our six cats were his best friends. Our Jack Russell was his favourite. In the course of the years he slowly deteriorated. During the last week of the Easter holidays it went fast. He got liver problems and was swollen due to fluid retention in his belly. Through the ammonia his head was not clear anymore. Wednesday the 11thApril 2018 at 11:00h will stay in my memories. I was present when Veterinarian Ellen Gantois (Eernegem) euthanized my big strong boy. This was the best option for him. He was so much in pain and the medication did not help anymore. He left us peacefully. Mauro was Vet Gantois’s favourite, she was also very emotional. He is now the biggest star in the sky. In the meantime 4 weeks have passed. Time flies. I miss him immensely. His picture is on the cupboard. Every now and then I weep for him and talk to him. I even miss him lying in my way on the floor in the middle of the living room… Dear Madam and all co-workers, I thank you for this kind, faithful, great black treasure with big eyes looking briefly and intensely at me. He was a grateful dog. On behalf of Mauro I give you a paw and a hug. You are doing a great job!
Thank you for what you are doing to help all these dogs.
Kind regards.

I inform you herewith that Cheli passed away, I adopted her on the 2nd April 2011.
7 years and 2 weeks, 2573 days we spent together. I was lucky to have her at my side. She was the light of my life. Her kidneys were deteriorating little by little and yesterday it was the right time to let her go, to run to paradise where she will not suffer anymore.
Thank you for what you are doing for the dogs and for us.

Dear Caramel,
You were my second Galgo and upon your arrival you looked really neglected (your front leg was probably broken once, you had lots of injuries that could not heal due to the transportation). As one of your volunteers said, you had a body and chassis problem. This was exactly how it was but somewhat funny. In the beginning you were very shy and did not want contact. It lasted almost one year before you claimed your own place in the house. You chose and found our own favorite places and we all found this normal. And so you also chose yourself to leave us. Rest in peace now, you deserved it. I will miss you immensely my sweet Caramel.
Your mom.
Many regards, Rita
We needed someone to moderate our enthusiasm. Even our mommy sometimes asked your help to calm us down. Then we knew what to do nevertheless you never showed your teeth, only Osée, the “little rascal” had to be tamed. You enjoyed to see us play but you always stayed quietly on your mattress behind the window in the sun. You also allowed us to lie down with you. You enjoyed our walks together, but last winter you gave up walking. Now you have decided to leave us. Dear Caramel we will miss you so much.

Lieve Caramel
Lieve Caramel we zullen jou verschrikkelijk missen

Hello Luna,
We did not expect this.
Suddenly you came into our life, and suddenly you left us. You were a kind, naughty dog. From the first moment you stole our heart. But you also stole other things. If something was missing, we only had to look at you and we knew where it was. And now, not even a year later we had to let you go. The acute kidney failure could not be healed anymore. It is not fair, especially because you were still so young, you were only 3 years old. But it is a consolation that we anyway could give you a warm home. We miss you. Sleep in peace, dear girl, and maybe we meet again.

Seven years ago Theo himself has chosen explicitly to come along to Belgium… at a walk right after the arrival from Spain, after the adoption day Theo came along and I was allowed to let him out for a second.. I liked him but I did not realize, I thought this popular dog would find very quickly a good home. But Stef saw him and he was impressed… then the decision was quickly made and Theo went home with us. Theo is he most affectionate, kindest galgo I have ever known. He was never sick until last year in November, he did not eat well, he lost weight, he had blood tests, an ultrasound, and then the verdict … the cruel disease with a C….. Through all kinds of medication etc.. we still had 4 very good months, but then he became sicker… he could not get better anymore and we did not want him to suffer. Theo you were the sweetest…

Dear Mireille,
I herewith bring you the sad news of Ponce’s decease.
He was our first greyhound (in the meantime 7 more have followed).
12 years ago we adopted this frightened darling via GINB. He was shy and timid, fearful and full of scars from his past life. With a lot of patience and love he became the best friend I ever had… He enjoyed life, he was the king of the house. He became playful and affectionate, funny and everyone’s friend. In fact he was a little bit spoiled. When the years passed my boy became older just like me… his body still carried the marks from his past thanks to the corrupted galgueros. Walking was not possible anymore since quite some time and his incontinence was under control with pampers. But in the past week it became very difficult for him to walk: because of the arthrosis his legs could not carry the weight of his body anymore… the falls became more frequent and more intense and to get into his preferred sofa without help was impossible.
The heartbreaking decision to let him sleep in peace was postponed as long as possible, but he was not comfortable anymore. Out of egoism, my love for him and my sorrow, the decision was delayed, I was not ready to let my faithful friend go… with his age of 14 years I silently hoped that he would make that decision for me and that one morning he would not wake up anymore lying in his comfortable soft sofa. But he was a fighter, he did not want to give up. He was gorgeous in his whole being. With a lot of grief we let him go, knowing that at the age of 14 he has been treated like a king during 12 years with us and we hope that this compensated sufficiently for his bad past.
Oh Mireille I miss him immensely! But time will heal the pain they say and there are still 7 wet noses coloring our house. Thank you for having given us the chance to have Ponce with us, to take care of him and walk his path of life. Thank you for trusting us and for your commitment and perseverance.
Big kiss
Nancy Rybczynski

Dear Cryena…
I had never thought that of all our dogs you would leave us first.
Despite your 15 years you still seemed so young. Yesterday you gave up and the only thing I could still give you was a decent end of life.
You gave me so much love! You were the greatest cuddle dog!
I miss your tripping-step in the house!

Our sweetheart Hanni is an immense loss with many beautiful memories.
Hanni, you destroyed everything that you found, from the dust cloth to the cashmere pullover and we laughed about it.
During a chat in the street you urinated on the person’s leg who was talking to us and we laughed. You stole many olives during the aperitif and we laughed.
You emptied the milk pot, that was ready for coffee time, and we laughed.
When you massacred the pens and left ink spots on the sofas, we laughed.
You raced in the living room with Firmin (our rabbit) that you were chasing and we laughed.
In the last two weeks before your decease there was nothing else but tears.
We hope to see you again someday in the company of Gringo (Berto), Django (Adrian), Ninja (Anna), Loulou (fox-terrier),Firmin, etc…

My dear princess has left forever.
The 30th August 2008 was a joyful day. I could take you along to give you a warm home and your golden basket that you deserved more than ever. I still remember you as a proud, noble lady who was her name Sara Sorella more than worthy. You came to me, your tail proudly in the air, until you saw all these people and then you stopped instantly and did not dare to go one step further. I had to take you in my arms to carry you to your sisters for the first meeting. With a lot of love and more patience you slowly started to trust me. I was very happy when you spontaneously asked for a caress and when you gave your first lick. I could give you a loving home during 9 years, 4 months and 3 weeks. On the 23rd January 2018 I had to let you go. Farewell my princess, someday we will meet again. You are in my heart forever. Thank you dear girl for all your love.
A big kiss from mommy and your sisters Estrella, Mirella, Fientje, Florke and Fleur who will miss you immensely.
Our sweet Jana has left us. After a painful start in life she found in our family all the love that she deserved and a lot of 4-legged companions with whom she shared everything. She leaves an emptiness, everything reminds me of her and looking at her empty sofa makes me incredibly sad. She is now in the paradise of all the galgo martyrs and will be in our heart forever.

Mei Ling,
Your name meant “beautiful lady”. And you were a beauty! When I saw you for the first time on the adoption day in July 2005, you were even more beautiful than on the picture. As far as character is concerned you were a real filly. After a few months we called you “our ADHD-dog”. You could not sit still, nor walk. You were always playing, running, racing, and a young dog full of joy of life. And so you stayed, when the years passed you calmed down, but you were still an “ADHD” dog. In the summer of 2017 we saw that you became skinnier than before. You were always very svelte, but still… To be sure we had your blood tested. A first check proved that there was a beginning kidney problem. The veterinarian immediately prescribed different food; medication was not necessary for the time being. A few days later Griet informed us that the test results were not so good. Cancer cells were found in your blood. We could not find a tumor anywhere… The tough prognosis was: only 2 to 3 months were left. Together we still had 6 beautiful months, despite of everything. Today we were forced to let you sleep forever. Beautiful lady, we will miss you.

Dear Nelly,
With much regret we had to make a difficult decision, the Leishmania destroyed your weak body. Ten years ago we drove to Aalter to take along my birthday present, at that time we still had Vudsel, a street dog of 17 years old. We said to each other, what kind of adventure is waiting for us? We thought we would never find a dog like Vudsel anymore, so kind and good, so unique. But it only got better, you were a gorgeous dog. I really do not understand the Spanish people. After your third birthday you became apathetic, you lost weight and got bald spots on your skin, the verdict was Leishmania, why you? Medication, love and a quiet place made you better but we realized that you would become our care dog. Indeed in the last years we had to make our walks with GINB shorter. On the advice of our veterinarian we went to see a specialist. It was a risky operation because your bones were so fragile but the result was successful. You enjoyed the physiotherapy at Waterhof. Unfortunately you could enjoy your painless knee only a few months. You have given us the galgo virus because later Nina and Asperge joined our family, they will be lost in the coming days. We will never know why your breast filled with blood. The major surgery from which we wanted to save you, you would probably not have survived. We tried to give you a golden basket after the Spanish hell and we hope we succeeded. We are grateful to our regular veterinarian-dermatologist Christin Swinnen, veterinarian Peter Deroeck who operated your knee, Ellen Martens from Waterhof for your revalidation and finally the Animal clinic De Bruyker in Kermt where you spent your last days with the best care. I would have loved to take you back home alive and well to tell you how much we love you but it was not possible anymore. You were cremated at Amicitia on the 7th January 2018, your urn is now on a nice place on the sideboard, and your soul is in my heart. Run over de rainbow bridge now and give our regards to Vudsel.
Sleep in peace dear Nelly, our princess, forever in our heart.
